Stoze was built by people who've lived both sides of the problem — construction and finance — and believe the industry deserves a better way to transact.
Every contractor knows the stories — the bad actors who take deposits and disappear, the disputes that turn good projects ugly. And every good contractor knows what it feels like to get lumped in with them.
Stoze exists to change how this industry transacts. Not with promises, but with process: secured funds, documented sign-offs, and a structure that protects both sides of every project. When good contractors have great systems, clients gain confidence, projects run smoother, and the whole industry gets better.
That's the mission — help the contractors who do great work transact like it.
Stoze is built the way a good project is built: field experience setting the direction, with skilled specialists brought in for every part of the work that demands them.
BJ has spent nearly 30 years in construction in Cache Valley, Utah — long enough to see every way a project can go sideways, and every way the industry's payment problem holds good contractors back. But he's never been the stereotypical contractor. From early in his career he was running multiple crews and building the systems, teams, and operations of a real company — a businessman running a landscaping business, who still put in his time in both the literal and proverbial trenches. As an entrepreneur, he went on to build businesses and brands, developing deep experience in digital sales and marketing. Stoze brings those worlds together: a payments platform for the construction industry, built from the ground up by someone who's spent his whole career building things that last.
Stoze is guided by advisors who've led inside the institutions this platform is built on — banking compliance, global payments, corporate finance, and scaled operations.
Ben's career has been spent moving money and building the relationships that make it possible — from global payments platform Hyperwallet to Worldpay, one of the world's largest payment processors. A Utah State grad known for leading with integrity and follow-through, Ben advises on how funds flow through Stoze and on the banking and payment partnerships behind the platform.
John brings 15+ years of risk and compliance leadership inside the institutions that set the standard — Vice President roles at Wells Fargo in operational risk and financial crimes compliance, enterprise compliance programs at American Express, and operations management at Chase. At Stoze, John advises on the safeguards clients never see but always benefit from: identity verification, screening, audit trails, and the regulatory discipline behind every transaction.
Timothy is a CPA who has managed money at every altitude — audit training at EY, six years as Controller at national homebuilder Taylor Morrison, treasury operations at DriveTime overseeing hundreds of millions in credit facilities, and currently serving as a CFO. He knows construction finance from the inside, and at Stoze he advises on trust accounting, ledgers, and the financial controls that keep them as solid as the escrow they protect.
Todd built his career at Conservice, the Logan-based utility management company recognized fifteen straight years on the Inc. 5000 — rising from Client Success Manager to VP of Operations along the way. He's spent that career scaling teams and processes that keep clients supported as companies grow fast. At Stoze, Todd guides how the platform supports both sides of every project.
